Role Overview
Location: Stamford, CT
Alta Fox is seeking a Junior Analyst to join our investment team in Stamford, Connecticut. This role is designed for candidates with 1–4 years of professional experience currently working in investment banking, sell-side equity research, or asset management who are seeking a long-term role as a fundamental investor.
Junior Analysts gain meaningful exposure to all stages of the investment process from day one. They are expected to take real ownership of research, develop independent views, and contribute directly to the investment process. The role offers significant responsibility, close collaboration with senior investors, and a steep learning curve.
We are looking for someone who is serious about pursuing a long-term career in public-markets investing and is motivated by depth of work rather than breadth of coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Company & Industry Research – Conduct in-depth fundamental research, analyze filings, meet with management teams, and develop investment insights.
Financial Modeling – Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate valuation frameworks, earnings drivers, and key investment risks.
Due Diligence – Perform comprehensive diligence on potential investments, including competitive positioning, regulatory factors, and industry dynamics.
Investment Communication – Present research findings and investment theses to the investment team in a clear, structured, and actionable manner.
Qualifications
Background:
1–4 years of experience in investment banking, sell-side equity research, or asset management
Strong academic background with demonstrated analytical ability
Skills:
Excellent financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear conclusions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Personal Attributes:
Intellectual curiosity and independent thinking
High level of ownership, discipline, and attention to detail
Comfortable working in a lean, high-accountability environment
Interested in a long-term role growing alongside the firm
